Student life at the University of Dunaújváros has been shaped by the more than 270-year-old traditions of Selmec that forge teachers and students of the university into a very cohesive community. From the very beginning international students arriving to this community can get all the support they need from Hungarian students studying here, as well as from their teachers. Members of The International Relations Office are ready to put the compass in the hand of the new students and they remain the first line of their guard throughout their stay. The Students' Self-government (HÖK) organizes a lot of cultural, sports events and free time activities. The most popular being are the following: Freshmen’s Camp, Freshmen’s Ball, Dorm Days and Ski Camp.

Dunaújváros is the national capital of sport. It is indeed the official title of Dunaújváros during the late 90’s, when basically all teams of the city were competing in the highest divisions of national leagues. And not just competing! They become champions under the name Dunaferr Sportegyesület; football, volleyball, ice-hockey, both men’s and women’s handball, woman waterpolo. It is the best choice for you to come here, if you are just a huge fan of sports, or should you happen to be even talented, the opportunity will be given to find your interest or to try yourself out.

Besides the above the city is full with different subject interest groups; like photo club, soccer club, creative hobby club, dance club, choir, just to name a few.
