1.) What is digital education (distance learning)?
The Univesity of Dunaújváros has been developing the requirements of online and digital education for years because of the continuously increasing number of correspondence students and also in order to support the success of studying. Thanks to this 77 Hungarian and 28 English subjects have been made available for students fully online already. Furthermore, the subject syllabus for each course already must have been uploaded in the Neptun system, and for each course, the method and timing of the examinations must have been registered there.
The University of Dunaújváros has been successfully using the framework system of Moodle for years. Every subject that has started shall be available in each semester for all registered students. For these online courses, lecturers need to upload content related to the curriculum and topic of the subject (lecture materials, ppt's, assignments, exam questions, etc.).

Distance education ensures a variety of options to measure and test students’ knowledge. The teachers may select the most optimal way of examination freely, so no obstacles are foreseen in preparation and writing essays and exams.
4.) Will the students experience delays in their studies because of the emergency provisions?
The schedule of the academic year will not be affected by the emergency provisions. The study period will end on 12 December, the exam period is scheduled for the period from 4 to 30 January 2021, and final exams shall take place between 18nd January 2021 and 29th January 2021. The progress of all students according to the existing curriculum and their preparation for the exams will be provided by distance learning options.
5.) Did the deadlines for thesis and consultant dates change?
No, there are no changes in the deadlines in connection with the thesis and the final exam. The deadline for the thesis submission, also the application deadline for final exams is, as planned, the 30th November2020.
6.) Are the announced dates of the mind-term exams still relevant? Do they change in the digital education?
The lecturers who are responsible for the courses will inform all the students about the form and the date of the exams.
7.) How is the internship done during the epidemic?
Internships can only take place during an outbreak if the workplace can support the practice of home work. If it cannot be resolved, students will have the opportunity to complete the practice time after the emergency has been lifted. Of course the time of the final exams will be treated flexibly.
8.) How do the dates and methods of final exams change?
Due to the emergency situation the deadline for the thesis submission and the time period of the final exams which both appear in the Academic calendar of 2019/2020 were modified in order to ensure that our students will be able to complete their studies successfully. According to this order the final exams shall take place between 22nd June 2020 and 3rd July 2020. Of course, we are constantly monitoring the situation and depending on how it escalates, we will consider the possibility of completing internships and theses in a flexible manner so that our students are not disadvantaged in this difficult situation.
9.) Can the epidemic result that the semester is postponed and it will affect the total semesters to complete a study programme?
Postponing the semester is not among our plans, but we try to keep most of the lessons in a digital/online form. In cases such as lab measurements, experts were asked to come up with a solution and a proposal. It is expected that students will be able to make up for these missed tasks after the epidemic situation is over has and the travel ban is lifted.
10.) What about Stipendium Hungaricum and Young Christian scholarship payments?
If you are staying in another country for more than 30 days, you will not be entitled to receive the monthly scholarship and accomodation support because the aim of these financial supports is to help to cover your expenses in Hungary. Of course, after you came back to Hungary, you are going to continue receiving the mentioned supports. If you leave Hungary definitely inform the International Relations Office and the Hustel Management about the exact date of your travel and your destination! Please, let us know about your date of arrival back to Hungary too. These decisions do not affect your scholarship status, so you are not going to lose it based on the cases described above.
11.) What happens with the books borrowed from the library?
Sadly as long as the current epidemic emergency is ongoing, the library just like the university is closed. Book loaning that expires during this period will not be charged, you will be able to return the books during a period of two weeks after the epidemic emergency is over. There are several online databases available online during the emergency situation. For further information check the following link.
