Within the framework of European Mobility Week the Municipality of Dunaújváros and our university organised a conference entitled "Modern Cities Program - Promotion of Electromobility".
The Presidential Board of the conference was formed by dr. György Ágoston Vice-Rector for Science and Research, dr. Ildikó Angerer Petrovickij Dunaújváros County Chief Environmental Advisor, dr. László Kadocsa Chairman of the Scientific Council of the University of Dunaújváros and dr. László Balázs project manager, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences.
Dr. László Kadocsa’s opening speach was followed by dr. András Nagy’s presentation about Electric airplanes. Dr. Attila Szabó, the second presenter talked about the Past, present and future of electric vehicles. He was followed by dr. Endre Kiss with his presentation entitled: Energy issues of electromobility. Dr. Péter Bajor’s exposé was entitled: The future’s charging stations in our homes. The conference’s last presenter dr. István Szabó displayed the Operation of the 21st century energy system to the participants.

As one of the key knowledge centers in the surrounding region, the University of Dunaújváros took a leading role in organising local events in the framework of the European Mobility Week to be held between 16-22 September 2018.
The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign provides the perfect opportunity to present sustainable mobility alternatives to local residents and to explain the challenges that cities and towns are facing. By taking part, towns and cities can showcase the benefits of cleaner transport choices and make progress towards better mobility in Europe.
Besides joining the different events organised by the Municipality of Dunaújváros all over the week, UOD will host a full-day program series under the name "Electromobility - Green Day at the University of Dunaújváros" on 20 September.
Electromobility is one of the main research areas at the University of Dunaújváros. Our Electromobility Day will start with a scientific conference, where researches of our university present the latest result of their work. The conference will be followed by a Sports Day, where UOD students, professors and colleagues can join the different sports activities and competitions. An exhibition on electromobility-related topics will be held in the A building where visitors can see and learn more about e.g. electric cars, VR simulator, solar, tracking and gyroscoping robots and IPAD games. The same exhibition will be available next day as one of the program points of the city’s Car-Free Day.

The Student Union of the University of Dunaújváros welcomed new university citizens in the framework of the Freshmen's Camp held between 6-8 September 2018.
This year's event was special from many pont of views, but mostly because this was the first Camp where Hungarian and International students could enjoy the programs together.
On the first morning of the Camp students attended to orientation sessions where they could get insight into the university life in general, and received information about their chosen study program. The orientation morning was followed by team-building activities where 10 teams of Freshmen competed with each other.
On the second day Freshmen could attend to the Opening Ceremony of the academic year, and during the afternoon their adventures continued with geo catching and a video game party.
On the third and closing day the Camp continued on the Danube river bank at the Szalki island, the most beautiful natural-geographical spot in Dunaújváros. And last but not least, each day's program was followed by a party organized on Campus with both live music and DJ's in order to help the new students build a real community.

For the new academic year, nearly six hundred students arrive at the University of Dunaújváros, which shows a decent increase compared to the data of last year.
A second admission procedure has been completed as well for those students, that did not manage to get to the desired university for the first try thus number of admitted students at University of Dunaújváros is complete now. Just within the framework of the second admission, altogether 58 students earned the possibility to continue their studies in Dunaújváros, which is also a large increase compared to the previous term. According to the general and second admission procedure, a total of 496 newly-enrolled students can start studying in September, which is 5.6 percent higher than last year. Together with more than a hundred foreign students, nearly six hundred students will begin the semester in two weeks.

According to Dr. habil István András, rector of the university the number of students is growing slowly but surely, which is confirmed by more than a hundred International newcomers. International students arrive from a total of thirty countries most of them from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. A significant part of them can begin their studies within the framework of Stipendium Hungaricum and Young Christians scholarship programs. According to Dr. András their intention remains to continue to strengthen the student-centered approach which can help to avoid to have falling numbers.
Soon the lessons start for the students but before launching, the freshman’s camp welcomes the newbies from September 6th, Thursday until September 9th Sunday. In the evenings, Rockbox, Névtelen Utca and Dj. Juhász Laci will entertain the participants.

The representatives of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), Yang Ling Deputy Director, Han Hansen Deputy Director of International Cooperation Unit, Da Huo Program Director of International Co-operation Department and Wang Jing, The Head of the China Office of the University of Dunaújváros visited our university on the 5th September.
The delegation was received by Dr. István András PhD, Rector, Dr. Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár PhD, Vice Rector of General and Academic Affairs and Kiss Ádám Sándor, Chancellor and Katalin Gyöngyössy, the Head of the International Relations Office.
The cooperation agreement between UOD and CSCSE was already signed in 2017. In China, CSCSE’s International Cooperation Department coordinates and supervises the international student exchange programs and the higher educational collaborations of the Chinese universities with partner universities from other countries. Furthermore the CSCSE is responsible for the adoption of the certificates and diplomas of Chinese students that they receive following their completed part-time or full-time studies abroad. The adoption procedure of the bachelor and master degree certificates of the Chinese students who studied in Hungary is essential to the Chinese students for their employment in P.R.C. Besides these tasks CSCSE provides supervision for the internationally acknowledged „Higher National Diploma” study programs at the universities in China, after the successful completion of which more and more students decides to apply for starting bachelor degree studies in English language at the University of Dunaújváros.
We believe that due to this meeting with CSCSE the already existing cooperation with Chinese partner universities will be extended and improved and it will also open opportunities for the establishment of new partnerships with universities in China.

The University of Dunaújváros was the host of the IV. International Economic and Business Congress, what was held on the 28th and 29th June. The conference was established with the cooperation and support of the Turkish-Hungarian Businessmen Association.
Before the conference, dr. habil István András, rector of the University of Dunaújváros, dr. Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár, vice-rector and dr. László Balázs, director of the Institute of Social Sciences received a delegation of the organizers and several university leaders. The discussion also focused on making closer links between universities.
After the meeting, the International Economic and Business Congress / ICEB'18 /, which was held for the fourth time in cooperation with researchers and business leaders from Turkey and representatives of 19 other nations, began.
The two-day conference is visited by several renowned professors from different universities and more than 100 scientific studies are presented. The event also plays an important role in strengthening cultural relations between participating countries, in addition to promote scientific research and catalyzing academic cooperation.
