Mechanical Engineering MSc
Majd Hussein, our Lebanese alumni student, studied at the University of Dunaújváros.
He completed his studies in Mechanical Engineering and graduated from UOD. During his university years, he gained valuable practical knowledge and built strong professional connections through the university’s industry partnerships.
After graduation, he worked at Schneider Electric, where he further developed his professional skills in an international environment. His journey reflects continuous growth, starting already during his studies with internship opportunities that later turned into full-time employment.
Majd experienced a supportive academic atmosphere at UOD, where professors provided both academic guidance and mentorship. He also benefited from the multicultural environment of the university, living and studying together with students from different nationalities.
The University of Dunaújváros alumni team invited him to share his experiences and insights about studying and building a career after graduation.

Q: Are you currently studying or working and where?
A: I used to work at Schneider Electric, currently I am looking for new opportunities.
Q: Please describe shortly your professional journey since your graduation.
A: My professional journey has been strong and progressive from an early stage. Even before graduating, the University of Dunaújváros provided me with valuable professional network through its partnerships with leading employers in Hungary. This enabled me to secure an internship that evolved into a full-time position before I completed my BSc.
Q: How did you decide to study at the University of Dunaújváros and choose your program?
A: I completed my BSc at the University of Dunaújváros, and the quality of both the academic program and professional opportunities made my decision to pursue my MSc there a natural and confident choice.
Q: What things did you learn at UOD that were most helpful to you?
A: Organizational culture, being practical beyond theoretical and adaptation to a fast growing environment.
Q: How would you describe the relationship between students and professors during your time at the UOD?
A: The professors have always been there to support their students on both academic and mentorship levels.
Q: What do you think of the campus of the university?
A: The campus has been recently renovated, which made it look even more appealing, which access to enough leisure activities, in addition to the great infrastructure of the dormitories that made the university stand out.
Q: What do you think of the extracurricular activities (programs, events, excursions) at UOD?
A: The TDK scientific conference, which involves decent collaboration between the professors and the students on a high level competition.
Q: How well did UOD prepare you to enter the workplace?
A: Most of the subjects were easily applicable in the industry, considering the fact that I studied at the university of applied sciences and the professors were open to real world example discussions during lectures.
Q: What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering applying to the UOD?
A: Go for it, you will be able to work beside your studies, and the university will definitely build the necessary attitude you need for your breakthrough in the industry.
Q: How did studying at UOD help you adapt to an international or multicultural environment?
A: The dormitory has been a home for many nationalities, who were friendly and collaborated well with each other through their academic journey.
