Submitting an individual teacher mobility application
There are two ways to submit an individual mobility application as a teacher:
1. Mobilities within the framework of network cooperation
If the sending institution has a CEEPUS network whose topic is relevant to the applicant, a network mobility application can be submitted. The selection of potential scholarship holders is carried out by the local coordinator of the network in accordance with the call for applications issued by the institution.
2. Off-grid, freemover mobilities
If the lecturer cannot find a suitable CEEPUS network in his/her own institution , he/she has the opportunity to join the program as a freemover, if the networks have not used up their available funds. In the freemover application type, students and lecturers with active status in any higher education institution in CEEPUS countries can submit an application to any higher education institution in CEEPUS countries. Freemover applications can be submitted for the spring semester. Applications for the autumn semester can be submitted in the event of a separate call, which will be published on our website at the beginning of the summer.
The CEEPUS network is an international partnership of higher education institutions , in which not entire institutions participate, but smaller units, at faculty or even department level. Faculties or departments establish an international cooperation focusing on a certain scientific field or interdisciplinary network cooperation, which includes the exact mobility places awarded for the given academic year. The awarded mobility places are announced among the teachers of the faculty or department participating in the network.
Further information can also be requested from the institutional CEEPUS coordinator; their contact details and links to the institutional CEEPUS websites can be found on the "Contact details of institutional CEEPUS coordinators" page .
The purpose of teacher mobility
- It is mandatory to hold a minimum of 6 teaching hours and/or thesis consultation within 5 working days (this technically qualifies as 1 month of mobility in the www.ceepus.info application system)
- Participation in a 1-3-day network meeting (primarily for network partner coordinators and their assistants who are added as contacts to the network);
- Mobility may be accompanied by research or participation in conferences, but this cannot be the exclusive goal!
The application period
The duration of the teaching trip is a minimum of 5 working days (technically 1 month).
General conditions for receiving the scholarship
- university or college teaching employment
- holding a minimum of 6 teaching hours and/or thesis consultations within a minimum of 5 working days, and presenting the related educational plan in the application (in some countries, an hourly or daily fee is paid, detailed information about this can be found on the www.ceepus.info website by clicking on the given country flag)
- in the case of network mobility, support for the institutional coordinator or network coordinator/partner of the given network
- does not receive any other scholarship during the scholarship period (exclusion of double funding)
- Citizenship of a CEEPUS country*
- the applicant cannot travel to a country that is the same as his/her own citizenship or place of habitual residence with CEEPUS support (except for Hungarian teachers abroad, subject to compliance with the current application deadlines)
- The scholarship holder's obligations can be read on the Obligations of a CEEPUS Scholarship Holder – Teacher/Faculty Members page and on the network meeting page ( Obligations of a CEEPUS Scholarship Holder – network meetings).
*If the applicant is not a citizen of a CEEPUS country, but is a lecturer at an accredited higher education institution in a CEEPUS country, he/she is entitled to participate in the program under the same conditions. In this case, a so-called "Equal Status" document must be uploaded to the application, which is intended to prove that the applicant is a lecturer at the sending institution (e.g. the first page of an employment contract, preferably in English).
Application deadlines
The deadline for submitting teacher mobility applications is the same every year, on the following dates:
- network mobility for the fall semester: June 1.
- network mobility for the spring semester: November 1.
- as a freemover for the fall semester: in case of a separate call, according to the information in the call
- as a freemover for the spring semester: November 1.

The scholarship is awarded to the successful applicant by the host country, the amount of which varies from country to country.
