College for Advanced Pedagogy and Communication of the Antal Kerpely College of the University of Dunaújváros announces the XII. SHORT FILM FESTIVAL! The competition is open to students of secondary schools, vocational schools, and universities in Hungary and abroad.

Entry deadline for the XII. Short Film Festival and deadline for submitting films:

NOVEMBER 23, 2025 (SUNDAY) 11:59 p.m.
(Registration closes after the deadline.)

 

Who can submit an application?

  • University of Dunaújvárosi Bánki Donát Technikum students (junior)
  • University of Dunaújváros currently active Hungarian and foreign students (medior)

 

What categories can you enter this year?

  • 1. Fiction/animation 🦄
  • 2. Television production 🎞️
  • 3. Art film 🎵
  • 4. Suprise us! 🎉

 

Information about categories:

  1. Fiction/animation: Short films on any subject that tell a fictional story. Primarily the category of more popular, mainstream films.
  2. Television material: We welcome documentaries, reportage films, television reports, programs, news items, interviews (etc.) that are based on reality and have been produced primarily for television.
  3. Art film: Musical works, music videos, auteur films, and experimental films can be entered in this category. They are characterized by their unusual presentation of aesthetic and artistic ideas.
  4. Surprise me!: Moving image works of any genre and theme, even those created using special technology, can be entered in this category.

 

What are the conditions and requirements for registration?

  • Each entry may be no longer than 15 minutes in length
  • Full HD resolution (1920x1080), landscape orientation (16:9) if possible
  • MP4 / H.264 format, file size no larger than 2 GB per entry
  • Each creator may submit a maximum of 3 entries in categories 1-4 combined
  • The use of artificial intelligence is permitted, but must be indicated in the work!
  • Films, animations, and materials created by other authors may not be resubmitted.


Entries will be evaluated by a professional jury. Winners in each category will receive prizes.

Prizes:

For categories 1-4, the prizes for the top three places are as follows:

  1. Gift voucher worth HUF 20,000
  2. Gift voucher worth HUF 15,000
  3. Gift voucher worth HUF 10,000

This means that prizes worth a total of HUF 180,000 will be awarded during the film festival.

 

The festival is accompanied by a Data Management Policy: a DATA PROCESSING POLICY, which is addressed to entrants, as well as an Author's Work Submission Form and a Declaration (collectively, the "Declarations"). These can be downloaded here:

The forms can be acknowledged and authenticated with the author's signature. After that, all applicants should scan or photograph them in sufficient quality. All applicants should read the Data Management Information!

Failure to complete and submit the declarations may result in exclusion!

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE SUBMISSION OF DECLARATIONS:

Among the declarations, please fill out and sign the page entitled "DECLARATION REGARDING THE COPYRIGHTED WORK CREATED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DUNAÚJVÁROS" separately for each submitted entry. Of the declarations, if you are submitting multiple entries, it is sufficient to fill out and submit one copy of the page entitled "DECLARATION RELATED TO THE SHORT FILM COMPETITION."

Deadline for submitting original paper-based declarations: Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 12:55 p.m., i.e., no later than 5 minutes before the start of the XII. Short Film Festival at the venue (S01 large lecture hall)! (This is also the deadline for postal submissions!)

In the event of declarations not arriving until the deadline, the competitor will be disqualified!

If someone is unable to attend the festival in person, their work will still be screened and be awarded a prize by the jury. The professional jury reserves the right to reclassify a work into another category if they deem it necessary for any reason.

REGISTRATION PROCESS: 

XII. Short Film Festival Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m., on November 23, 2025 (SUNDAY) at the latest, in the following manner:

  • Creator name, who submitting the applications

  • Exact title(s) of the application video(s) to be uploaded to the folder provided after receiving our reply:

After that, the applicant will receive a writable (but not editable) online folder in a reply letter, where they can upload the nominated work(s) and the scanned/photographed Declarations!
