TDK stands for Scientific Students' Associations Conference with more than 50 years of tradition. The topic of the research to be presented at TDK is most often determined by the instructor as the supervisor, however, there is no obstacle for a student to initiate it on the basis of his / her own idea, visiting the instructor responsible for the topic, who will be his / her supervisor.

With the aim of establishing a tradition, the Scientific Student Conference will also be held in the spring semester.

The university organizes a TDK (Scientific Student’ Association Conference) every year – now every semester – to present the results of TDK work, which also serves as a competition. Participation in the conference requires the preparation and submission of a 25-50 page paper summarizing the work, as well as giving an oral presentation where the work is briefly introduced. Well-executed papers can be nominated for the National Scientific Student Conference (OTDK), which is held every two years in the spring. Participation in both the institutional and national competitions primarily offers moral recognition and can further motivate students for future research work. Achievements at the national conference also grant extra points for applications to master’s or postgraduate programs and, in many cases, can be beneficial for job placement. Since TDK work often continues in the form of a thesis or diploma project, the submission can be considered as a preliminary paper into which feedback from the supervisor and reviewer can already be incorporated. Furthermore, the experience gained from preparing for and delivering the presentation is also invaluable.

The requirements for the student papers can be found in a separate document on the website. Students who are preparing their thesis for the TDK should follow the formatting requirements of their specific department for their thesis.

Paper Evaluation:
Participants in the conference must prepare a 25-50 page paper presenting their research topic.

The papers must be submitted online to their supervisors before the conference. After that, the reviews will be prepared. The exact submission deadline will not be set, but the paper, along with the review, must be submitted to the TDK coordinator by noon on the day before the conference.

Presentation of the Paper:
Each participant will have 10-12 minutes to present their paper at the TDK conference. A PowerPoint presentation with 8-10 slides is required, followed by a 5-minute discussion. The student can address the reviewer's questions either within the presentation or during the discussion section (if the jury provides the opportunity). The main evaluation criteria for the presentation are: presentation of results, presentation style, time management, use of visual aids, ability to engage in a discussion, and professional competence.

Evaluation of the Paper:
The jury will score both the paper and the presentation, taking into account the review of the paper. Based on the total points, the jury will determine the rankings and make recommendations for the awards and the nomination for the National Scientific Student Conference (OTDK).

Awards:
At the institutional TDK, every student presenting their paper will receive a certificate of participation. Students who place in the TDK will receive a certificate that includes their ranking.
Additionally, the institution may award the Rector's Certificate of Recognition and the Certificate for Outstanding Scientific Student Work to students who achieve nationally outstanding results.
