The University of Dunaújváros welcomed a five-member delegation from Shangqiu Normal University on 21 September 2026. The meeting aimed to review the existing cooperation between the two institutions and identify opportunities for further development and expansion.

Representing Shangqiu Normal University were Zhang ShangZi, Chairman of the University Affairs Committee; Meng XiHua, Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Education; Yang TongHui, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Zhou Yanli, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; and Lu Li, Director of the Office of International Relations.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár, Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Institutional Development; Dr. László Balázs, Vice-Rector for Education; Prof. Dr. Róbert Sánta, Director of the Institute of Engineering; Dr. Antal Joós, Director of the Institute of Information Technology; Ildikó László, Director of the International Relations Directorate; and Mária Kerékgyártó, International Relations Officer, representing the University of Dunaújváros.

The discussions focused primarily on expanding cooperation in education and student mobility. The participants reviewed several areas in which further professional cooperation could be developed based on the existing partnership, including longer-term student mobility opportunities lasting one or two semesters, opportunities for postgraduate studies at master's level, and the possibility of establishing a 3+1 programme in Computer Engineering.

During the programme, the delegation also identified joint research cooperation and laboratory projects as important areas for future collaboration. In addition to engineering, information technology, materials science and renewable energy, the discussions also covered laboratory facilities and opportunities for materials testing.

Potential areas of cooperation also included links to the Summer University programme and cultural cooperation. In this context, the participants discussed exploring opportunities to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries, as well as identifying shared Hungarian-Chinese cultural connections.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to continuing discussions and exploring further opportunities for cooperation. The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to gain a better understanding of each other's perspectives and to strengthen their professional relationships.
