On 26 June 2026, 440 – 380 Hungarian and 60 international - students received their degrees at the University of Dunaújváros, including 233 who graduated with distinction. Since then, the University’s alumni team has launched several initiatives to ensure that recent graduates remain connected with the institution even after the graduation ceremony.
The University’s current alumni initiatives aim to ensure that the transition from student life to becoming an alumnus or alumna does not mean a sudden break, but rather the beginning of a long-term and continuous relationship. As the University’s own alumni platform is currently being introduced, these materials are for the time being sent directly to recent graduates by email, addressing both Hungarian and international alumni.
Members of the University’s alumni community – who themselves walked through the same doors as graduates only a few years ago – are invited to share their experiences, good wishes and lessons learned with this year’s graduates. Many have taken up the opportunity: personal reflections, words of encouragement and practical advice are being collected and shared by email with all recent graduates. In addition, some alumni have also shared specific job opportunities, internships and junior positions, recommending them directly to members of this year’s graduating class.
Recent graduates are also given the opportunity to send messages of thanks to those who contributed to their success during their university years – whether lecturers, administrative staff, dormitory coordinators or other colleagues – either by name or anonymously. The alumni team ensures that every message reaches its intended recipient.
In the emails sent to graduates, the University also explains what it truly means to be an alumnus or alumna: staying connected with former classmates and the University, having access to events and further study opportunities, and becoming part of a network whose members now work at many leading organisations across the region and the country. The DUE alumni community and the services associated with it are continuously developing. The University has recently renewed its social media presence, regular alumni gatherings and professional events are being organised, and a digital community platform is also planned, through which graduates will be able to reconnect with one another and find career opportunities relevant to them.
Until the University’s dedicated alumni platform is launched, its Facebook and LinkedIn pages remain the easiest way for recent graduates to stay up to date with institutional news, events and developments.
The alumni team has also prepared a short survey, which takes only a few minutes to complete and gives recent graduates the opportunity to share what they remember most fondly from their university years and how likely they would be to recommend the University of Dunaújváros to others. The University warmly welcomes its recent graduates back to traditional university events and future alumni programmes, while wishing them every success in the next stage of their lives.
Graduation marks the end of their university years, but their connection with the University of Dunaújváros continues.
