The rector of the University of Dunaújváros (UoD) has been appointed for a term running from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2031.

The decision on the rector’s appointment was published on May 15, 2026, in Issue 49 of the Hungarian Gazette for 2026. In accordance with the National Higher Education Act, the appointment is for a fixed term of 5 years.

The rector selection process began on November 11, 2025, when the Maintaining Authority announced an open call for applications to fill the position of rector. The Senate, which is UoD’s democratically elected supreme decision-making body, discussed the matter during its meeting on December 5, 2025, and unanimously supported (with 13 votes in favor) Dr. István András’s candidacy for rector through a secret ballot. Based on the Senate’s unequivocal resolution of support, the Governing Body submitted Dr. András István’s application materials to the President of the Republic in early 2026 through the Minister responsible for higher education at the time.
