On October 10, the International Relations Directorate (IRD) successfully organized its first excursion of this semester, taking our international students to the beautiful city of Pécs. We are proud to share that this trip attracted the highest level of interest ever recorded for an IRD-organized excursion in Hungary!

Blessed with sunny weather and stunning scenery, participants had the perfect opportunity to discover the charm of southern Hungary.

Our first stop was the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter where students enjoyed an engaging session at the Planetarium exploring the wonders of the universe in an interactive setting.

The group then continued to one of Pécs’ most iconic landmarks — the Mosque of Pasha Qasim in the city centre. The serene atmosphere of the “dzsámi” captivated everyone, and students had the chance to take time for themselves to fully appreciate the beauty and history of the site.

The day concluded with free time allowing participants to explore Pécs’ picturesque city centre, discover local cafés, and soak in the vibrant cultural life of the region.

This first group trip was not only a memorable experience for our students but also a rewarding moment for the IRD team, who were delighted to introduce such a special part of Hungary to our international community.

We look forward to discovering more of Hungary together!
