On 21st of February 2025, the graduates of the University of Dunaújváros (UoD) received their diplomas in a ceremony.
The first to congratulate the graduates was Rector István Dr. András. In his speech, he stressed that this day is a milestone for all graduating students, as they can officially receive their diplomas today as a result of many years of hard work.
"I am particularly pleased that we can boast a 100% pass rate in the January 2025 state examination, and that no one even received a passing mark. This is thanks to the system of literature level tests and mock exams developed at DUE to help students prepare for the most important test of all, the state exam. Congratulations to all of you on your achievements."
The festive programme continued with a performance by the choir of the Zsigmond Móricz Primary School. Conducted by Adrienn Szigethy.
János Süli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Dunaújváros, emphasized in his welcome speech that despite the cross-year course, many students received their well-deserved diplomas. He added that the number of students has been steadily increasing in recent years, and he is confident that there will continue to be great interest in the courses offered by the university in the future. "We have the intentions to make further improvements in the University. The first step in this direction was the renovation of the Main Building."
Following the toasts, the graduates took their vows, and then Dr. István András István, Rector of the University, and the directors of the institutes presented the diplomas.
In his welcome speech, Dr. Lajos Mészáros, Member of Parliament, said that DUE plays an important role in the life of the city and the region. "For me, as a Member of Parliament for the district, it is a particular pleasure to see the dynamic development that you have been part of over the past years. On the one hand, DUE has doubled the number of its students in a unique way among Hungarian universities; on the other hand, the significant developments that have taken place in your institution are also visible to those around you."
The focus of this year's event was on recent graduates who, through hard work and perseverance, have met the challenges of recent years and successfully passed their final exams. This year, a total of 167 students (including 10 foreign students) successfully passed their final exams.
Tamás Pintér, Mayor of the City of Dunaújváros, also bid farewell to the graduates. He thanked them for choosing this city and university for their studies and encouraged the graduating students that their Alma Mater and Dunaújváros will always welcome them back.
On behalf of the graduating students, Ferenc Patrik Barta, a computer engineering student, bid farewell to his fellow students and Alma Mater.
The ceremony ended with the anthems of the ancient faculties, followed by the sounds of the Szózat.
The University is proud of all its graduates and wishes them every success in their future careers!
Good luck!
