The University of Dunaújváros and the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 19 June 2024.

The cooperation signed in Dunaújváros aims to expand the professional-scientific relations between the parties. Based on previous discussions and successful joint professional work, both parties are committed to promoting further fruitful cooperation.

The activities identified in the cooperation include the development of curricula, the promotion of hydrogen technology training and the organization of related education.

At the ceremony, the Foundation for the University of Dunaújváros was represented by János Süli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Marcell Benkó, Director General and member of the Board of Trustees. On behalf of the University of Dunaújváros, Dr. István András Rector and Dr. László Balázs Academic Vice-Rector were present. The Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association was represented by Csaba Vigassy, Managing Director.

 

 

János Süli, chairman of the board of trustees, emphasized that the experience gained in the production and use of hydrogen could serve as the basis for a so-called hydrogen valley, which could be defined as the region of Százhalombatta, Dunaújváros, Paks and Szekszárd, and which could play a major role in renewable steel production and the production of green steel.

In his speech, Dr. István András the Rector of the University of Dunaújváros highlighted that the region of Dunaújváros is witnessing the establishment of an increasing number of businesses that can serve as a base for the University of Dunaújváros and related secondary school education to meet the demand for higher and secondary level labour.

Managing Director Csaba Vigassy added that the MHTSZ places great emphasis on the development of secondary and tertiary education related to hydrogen technology, a key step of which is the strengthening of cooperation with universities.
