On May 23, 2024, the University of Dunaújváros and the University of Cauca in Colombia signed their cooperation agreement in a ceremonial setting. Dr. István András, the Rector of the University of Dunaújváros and dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, the Rector of the University of Cauca were present at the event. The purpose of the contract is to increase institutional mobility, develop double degree training programs, and organize joint research projects.

 

 

This agreement opens new opportunities for students and researchers of both institutions, creating the opportunity to gain international experience, acquire new knowledge and broaden professional networks. Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, Rector of the University of Cauca, emphasized that the memorandum signed with the University of Dunaújváros confirms the commitment of the institution, which has been operating for almost two hundred years, to the strengthening of international scientific and cultural relations.

Dr. István András, the Rector of the University of Dunaújváros, also emphasized the importance of cooperation, trusting that many Colombian students and teachers will take the opportunity to visit Hungary, thus expanding their knowledge and experience. It also encourages Hungarian students and researchers to travel to Colombia to broaden their professional knowledge.

 

 

Among the goals of the cooperation is the development of student and faculty exchange programs, which enable members of both universities to increase their knowledge in an international environment. Furthermore, through joint research projects, researchers from the two institutions will be able to work together on topics that are relevant to both countries.

 

 

The speeches given at the event emphasized that this cooperation not only serves scientific development, but also contributes to the deepening of cultural and friendly relations between the two nations.

 

 

This is an outstanding event in the history of our university, as a Colombian delegation came to us for the first time to sign a cooperation agreement.

Ministerial Commissioner Rodrigo Ballester also joined the delegation during the visit to the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, also in order to strengthen international relations.
