A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Dunaújváros and the International Research Institute of Advanced Systems (hereinafter referred to as MNIIPU) on 7 November 2022.

Dr. Alexander Ageev, Director General of MNIIPU, János Süli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Dunaújváros, Marcell Benkó, Director General of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Dunaújváros, Pál Kovács, Deputy President of the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Office, and Dr. István András, Rector of the University of Dunaújváros personally participated in the signing and the subsequent meeting.

The MNIIPU was established in 1976 as an intergovernmental organisation between 5 countries - Bulgaria, Hungary, Cuba, Mongolia, Russia - with the main objective of carrying out integrated research and development in the field of management theory and practice. To achieve this goal, the Institute established in 2017 its Nuclear and Water Law Centre in Budapest, which will enable it to support its partners in the field of nuclear and water law professional cooperation at international level. MNIIPU is also responsible for organising conferences and forums with industry players, playing a key role in the transfer of knowledge between universities in the field of education and research with the National Research Nuclear University in Russia.

The agreement between the University of Dunaújváros and MNIIPU, which aims to promote long-term cooperation in the field of high quality nuclear higher education and training, will create the basis for the development of Rosatom VVER knowledge transfer relevant to the University of Dunaújváros, given that the 5th nuclear power plant to be built in Paks will be a new nuclear power plant. VVER-1200 units No. 5 and No. 6 at Paks is the competence of the University of Dunaújváros, therefore this agreement can be considered as a milestone in the local establishment of nuclear training areas.
