On Tuesday, 26 October 2022, wing "C" of the Mayor's Office in Dunaújváros was filled with speakers and visitors who care about climate and environmental protection.

 

Within the framework of the project KEHOP-1.2.1-18-2019-00254 "For a livable climate - local climate strategy and awareness raising in Dunaújváros", the Municipality of Dunaújváros and the Foundation for Higher Education of Dunaújváros invited the population of Dunaújváros and its surroundings to a climate protection conference. During the whole morning program, visitors could listen to 5 interesting presentations.

Before that, Zsolt Szabó, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Dunaújváros, responsible for economic and coordination affairs, opened the event. As a committed green politician, he said that we borrowed the land from our grandchildren, and it is our duty to take care of it. 

 

 

After the opening speech, Sára Luca Papp, certified environmental engineer, landscape, and environmental geographer, took the floor. In her presentation, she talked about the climate strategy of Dunaújváros, focusing on its innovations and strengths. 

 

 

Energy engineer Zoltán Baranyák gave a presentation entitled "Life after the Climate Strategy - The New Vision".

 

 

After a short break, Dr. Péter Bajor, college associate professor, continued the lecture series. In his presentation he presented research and development activities, results and potentials of climate protection, mainly oriented towards education. 

 

 

The day ended with a double presentation by Dr. Ildikó Angerer Petrovickijné, senior environmental advisor, in which she presented the environmental state of Dunaújváros and its climate protection context and asked the audience what we can do for Dunaújváros and climate protection.

 

 

The lecture series could be organized within the framework of the KEHOP-1.2.1-18-2019-00254 project "For a livable climate - local climate strategy and awareness raising in Dunaújváros".
