Sooner or later time will come for all applicants when they have to paticipate in a Skype interview with one of the Admission Team members of University of Dunaújváros.

This interview, gives a chance for the Admission Committee to check the aims and motivation for choosing this field of study. It is also a possibility for us to check that your English skills are adequate for completing the chosen major.

As the Skype interview is a very important part of our selection procedure we want to help you being successfully on it. In order to that we gathered some tips to help you carry out the Skype interview easily.

Choose a location that’s distraction-free

The last thing you want during your Skype interview or video interview is to have a family member or pet come running across the screen or disturbing you by making noise. Find a quiet, distraction-free room where you can shut the door and have silence with nothing moving or nobody’s talking in the background.

Be technically prepared

The video interviews take place via Skype. If you don’t know the program yet, find out about it ahead of time. Try to get to know how the program and its functions work, make sure you have the right software installed and test whether everything is running the way it should be.

Prepare for the interview

As with any interview, prepare for the role by practicing your answers to popular interview questions. Try to sum up things like your achievements, your strenghts or your future plans. That will showcase your experience and your attitude.

Look at the camera, not the screen

It is very tempting to watch yourself or your interviewer during a Skype session, but looking directly at the video camera is the only way to maintain direct eye contact with your interviewer.

Smile!

Along with natural eye contact, try keeping your expression pleasant and engaged. Not only will it help convey a sense of confidence to your interviewer, but it’s been scientifically proven that smiling can help reduce stress…always a good thing during an interview. Don’t forget it is not an interrogation, but an easy conversation in order to get to know each other.

Prepare with questions!

You can also have some questions of your own prepared which not only useful to ask if you are not sure in something regarding our study programs or admission proccess, but also shows that you put in some extra effort.
