   Entry by air with a valid D-type visa or a valid residence permit    

 

You may enter Hungary with a valid D-type VISA or a valid residence permit.

You will have to undergo medical examination at the border to which you are required to submit to check for signs of Covid-19 infection.

If there is no suspicion of infection, you will be required to stay in quarantine for 10 days. Your quarantine obligation is ordered and checked by the local police.

 

The student hostel of the university has a dedicated quarantine floor. All first year students, exchange students and those senior students who are living in the student hostel have the possibility to spend their obligatory quarantine period on the quarantine floor of the student hostel. For those students who are prospectively moving in to the hostel and planning to arrive before the start of the fall semester, the Student Hostel provides accomodation free of charge in the 5 days preceding the start of the semester (27.08.2021 – 31.08.2021.) Those who are planning to arrive before 27.08.2021 accomodation in the Student Hostel is available at a 2900 HUF / person / night price. The dormitory fee will be paid retrospectively through the Neptun system. The deadline of the payment is 30.09.2021.

 

In case you want to get exempted from quarantine, you need to have 2 negative PCR tests within a minimum of 48 hours, and a maximum of 5 days of difference done after arrival. Important information:

 

• Hungary accepts the first PCR test brought from Canada, USA or Schengen zone countries - the second has to be done in Hungary after arrival.
• If you want to be tested, you have to organize testing by yourself, and it is advised to book in advance.
• The list of official testing organizations can be found on this link. 
• You may do your PCR test at Budapest Airport Coronavirus Testing Center as well!

 

!!! Anyone deciding to have PCR tests done, needs to inform the police about leaving the quarantine for PCR testing purposes and about the place of the test 24 hrs in advance, by submitting an online form.

!!! After receiving the PCR test result, all students need to inform the police about the result through an online form.

In order to reach the forms, please choose "Submissions related to the epidemic control measure" then

• "Send information about PCR test date” in order to be allowed to leave your quarantine for the time of the test
• „Send information on the results of PCR negative tests related to border crossing" – in order to report your test result

 

Please note that the University of Dunaújváros does not organize PCR testing.

 

Exemptions from quarantine according to the prevailing rules:

 

All students will be quarantined for 10 days, except those who:

• upon entering the territory of Hungary, provide credible evidence that they have gone through COVID-19 disease (hereinafter “infection”) within 6 months of the day of presenting themselves at the border.

• received COVID-19 vaccination abroad, and can provide an official vaccination certificate according to the specifications listed on this website.

 

Important note for those who are coming back from abroad and wishing to move in to the student hostel The Student Hostel is a closed community where the common areas such as the corridor, terrace, kitchen, are used by several people at the same time. The management of Hostel Kerpely recommends all students who are officially exempt from quarantine obligation, arriving from abroad to undergo a 5-days observation period on the quarantine floor as a precaution. In case of being asymptomatic during the 5 days of observation period, you can take your designated dormitory place on the next day.

You can enter Hungary by road, rail and waterway from Croatia, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia without any epidemiological restrictions, regardless of your nationality and coronavirus immunity, but you must have other general conditions for entry (e.g. a valid passport, a valid residence permit or a valid D type visa where applicable).
