The Student Sports Association of the University of Dunaújváros (DUE DSE - Hungarian abbreviation) has also joined the #stayhome movement, which resulted in the suspension of all trainings and matches for all its sections.

It was a difficult decision for DSE to suspend all sports trainings for an indefinite period of time, but as they have confirmed, the health of their co-workers, athletes and their families is priority for them.

Imre Kalocsai, Secretary General of DSE, told to us about their measures in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, and their ideas about alternative sports opportunities.

In the current situation, DSE considers very impotant to raise the awareness of its staff about the importance of prevention, thorough hand washing and keeping the Government-emphasized curfew restrictions. "The current situation leads to changes in the everyday life for everyone, but we believe that as a team, we can overcome this challenge together." - says Kalocsai.

With the proclamation of the government-announced state of emergency the issue of E-sport has come to the forefront – although the topic still raises many questions.

The Secretary General informed us that DSE’s portfolio currently does not include E-sports, the plan is to be launch a standalone E-sports section  within the association later this year, but in the meantime they are supporting such initiatives. As the association stands with the #stayhome movement, creating the E-sport section of course became increasingly pressing.

Kalocsai added as well that "apart from E-sports, there are a number of home-based training opportunities that may not have come to our attention. On the Internet, for example, we can find several homemade videos about how we can easily build a treadmill with a little water and dishwashing detergent. It is important to maintain the right sense of humor in our lives even in these times, because without it it will be more difficult to get through the period ahead of us.”

Thus DSE is not discouraged, but rather looking at the future with a positive view relying on the strength of teamwork.
